Château Palmer Margaux 2022 75cl is the flagship Grand Vin from one of the most revered Third Growth estates in the Margaux appellation, southern Médoc. Sourced from 55 hectares of vines averaging over 38 years old on magnificent gravelly soils with quartz stones for excellent heat retention and drainage, this 2022 vintage is a classic Palmer blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. The estate has been 100% biodynamic since certification in 2018, employing minimal intervention, gravity-led handling in the cellar, and a unique ageing regimen: French oak barrels (with a proportion of new oak) followed by a second year in large oak foudres to preserve freshness and minimize wood influence. Deep ruby-purple in colour, it opens with intense aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, violet, crushed rose petals, graphite, and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with silky, ultra-fine tannins, vibrant black fruit, floral elegance, mineral precision, and a harmonious balance of richness and freshness, leading to a long, refined finish with lingering fruit and oak spice. Drink 2028–2050+ for peak complexity. Pairs superbly with grilled red meats, lamb, game, or aged cheeses. A profound, age-worthy Margaux of exceptional pedigree and finesse.
