Is Fortaleza connected to Sauza Tequila?
Yes — founder Guillermo Erickson Sauza is a direct descendant of Don Cenobio Sauza, who founded the original Sauza Tequila brand in 1873. The Sauza family sold that brand in 1976 but kept the historic La Fortaleza distillery, which Guillermo revived in 1999.
Why no barrel ageing for the Blanco?
