House of the Grande Dame
🏆Founded in Reims, 1772🏆Madame Clicquot invented the riddling table, 1816
Widowed young, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin took over the house and changed champagne forever — her riddling table gave the world its first crystal-clear cuvée. The unmistakable yellow label (Pantone 137) has signalled that Pinot Noir-led style since 1877.

Questions
What does Brut mean?
Brut is the classic dry style of champagne, with very little added sugar (dosage). It lets the wine's fruit, structure and toasty character lead rather than sweetness.
Why is it Pinot Noir dominant?
Pinot Noir is the grape that gives champagne body, depth and structure. Veuve Clicquot builds Yellow Label around it, which is why it tastes fuller and more powerful than lighter, Chardonnay-led styles.
How should I serve it?
Chill to around 8–10°C and serve in a tulip glass or flute. Chilling in an ice bucket for 20 minutes beats the freezer, which can dull the aromatics.
