Hawkstone began in 2021, when Jeremy Clarkson went looking for something worthwhile to do with the barley growing on his own farm. The answer was a lager — brewed in Gloucestershire by the Cotswold Brewing Company, and reworked until it could hold its own in a blind tasting against the local competition. What came out is an unfussy, properly made premium lager: smooth through the middle, a clean malt backbone, a lift of light citrus and a crisp dry finish. No gimmicks, no haze, nothing to get in the way. A pack of 10 × 330ml bottles.
