Small Batch Gin · Chablis, France · Founded by Emma & Alex Watson
Renais begins where wine ends. Emma and Alex Watson take the pressed grape skins from their family's Chablis vineyards — normally discarded — and distil them into a gin of extraordinary softness. Sculptural, sustainable, and the most talked-about founder-led spirit in Britain.

Questions
Is this really Emma Watson's gin?
Yes. Renais was founded in 2023 by Emma Watson and her brother Alex, built around their family's vineyards in Chablis. They are hands-on founders, not licensed names — Emma has been closely involved in the liquid, the bottle design and the brand from the start.
How is a grape-based gin different?
Most gin uses a neutral grain base. A grape base carries more texture and a subtle vinous softness, so the botanicals sit on something rounder. It is why Renais tastes gentler and more perfumed than a classic London Dry.
Will a traditional gin drinker like it?
Yes, though it is a different proposition to a juniper-forward London Dry. Think of it as the gin equivalent of a fine white wine — elegant, mineral and floral. It converts people who thought gin was not for them.
What makes it a good gift?
Three things: a genuinely beautiful, keepable bottle; a story worth telling over the first pour; and a name people recognise instantly. It is one of the very few bottles that works equally well for a spirits enthusiast and someone who simply appreciates good design.
Can you deliver it directly to the person I'm gifting?
Yes — enter their address at checkout and add your message. In London it can be at their door within 30–45 minutes, any hour of the day. The recipient must be 18+ with ID for our Challenge 21 check.
