Château Palmer Margaux 2021 75cl is the flagship Grand Vin from one of the most revered Third Growth estates in the Margaux appellation, southern Médoc. Sourced from 55 hectares of vines (some over 70 years old) on sandy-gravelly soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, this 2021 vintage is a beautifully balanced blend of 56% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot. Despite the challenging vintage conditions, the wine displays classic Palmer elegance and structure, with vivid ruby-violet colour, inky depth, and supple, well-integrated tannins. The nose offers savoury blue and black fruits, crayon graphite, cocoa bean, slate minerality, and a floral prettiness. The palate is medium to full-bodied with abundant dark fruit, mouthwatering freshness, floral lift, and a long, precise finish. Jane Anson awarded it 96 points, praising its “entirely Palmer in character” and “mouthwatering finish.” Drink 2028–2045+ for peak enjoyment. Pairs superbly with beef, lamb, game, or poultry. A refined, age-worthy Margaux of finesse and vintage resilience.
