Château Labégorce Margaux 2022 75cl is a refined, terroir-driven red Bordeaux from the esteemed Margaux appellation in the southern Médoc, owned by the Perrodo family. Sourced from approximately 70 hectares of vines averaging over 30 years old, planted on a complex mosaic of silt-heavy gravel and sandy soils, this cuvée benefits from meticulous minimal-intervention viticulture and precision techniques. The 2022 vintage is a classic Margaux blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, fermented in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats before ageing in French oak barrels (around 40% new) to enhance structure while preserving vibrant fruit purity. Deep ruby in colour, it opens with expressive aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry, violet, graphite, fresh herbs, and subtle cedar. The palate is medium to full-bodied with silky, polished tannins, juicy black fruit, floral lift, mineral freshness, and a harmonious balance of richness and elegance, leading to a long, refined finish with fine oak spice and lingering cassis. Drink 2027–2040+ for peak enjoyment. Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, beef, duck, or aged cheeses. A standout Margaux of finesse and ageing potential.
