Nyetimber planted vines in the West Sussex South Downs in 1988 and effectively pioneered serious English sparkling wine. 1086 is its prestige cuvée, honouring the estate’s first recorded mention as “Nitimbreha” in the Domesday Book of 1086 — nearly a millennium of history on one site. Everything is estate-grown, with the finest parcels hand-selected for the rosé.
The 2010 blend is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. That season — a drier winter, excellent hot and dry flowering, cooler August rains and sunny September ripening — delivered delicate, fine flavours. Traditional-method bottle fermentation and five years on lees, disgorged June 2016 at 8 g/l dosage under Mytik Diam technical corks. Only 12,000 bottles were produced. Presented in a premium gift box.
