Poesia 2014 — blackberry, plum and forest floor from a Bordeaux-minded estate in the heart of Mendoza.
Poesia comes from Luján de Cuyo, the high-altitude heartland of Mendoza where old vines and mountain sunshine produce Argentina’s most celebrated reds. The estate works with a Bordeaux sensibility — structure and restraint alongside the region’s natural generosity of fruit.
The 2014 blends Malbec with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in oak barrels. A decade on, it shows ripe dark fruit — blackberry and juicy plum — woven with earthy forest-floor and licorice notes, spice and vanilla from the oak, and well-integrated tannins. Smooth, velvety and long, it is drinking beautifully now.
Serve with: grilled lamb chops or steak, hearty stews, braised vegetables with herbs, portobello mushrooms, creamy cheeses or charcuterie.
