Gordon’s Dry Gin, bottled in the 1950s under the original spring cap — a genuine survivor of post-war British distilling.
Gordon’s was first distilled in London in 1769 by Alexander Gordon, and for most of the intervening centuries it has been the benchmark against which other London Dry gins are measured. This is a bottling from the 1950s, sealed with the spring cap closure typical of that era — the format alone dates it.
It is bottled at 40% ABV in the 75cl imperial quart format, from the traditional recipe: dominant juniper berries with coriander seed, angelica root, liquorice, orris root and subtle citrus peels. What you are buying is not just gin but a piece of gin history — a mid-century London Dry, unchanged in style for generations. Condition and fill level vary with age, as they do with any bottle of this vintage.
Serve with: a classic Martini or a straightforward Gin & Tonic — or keep it sealed on the shelf. Both are legitimate.

The closure used on Gordon’s bottles of that period, before modern screw caps. It is one of the clearest ways to date a bottle to the 1950s.
Spirits at 40% ABV are stable in glass and do not spoil the way wine does, though condition and fill level vary with a bottle this old. Many collectors keep it sealed.
75cl was the imperial quart format used in the UK before metrication brought the current 70cl standard.
