    About Caymus Vineyards

Caymus Vineyards was founded in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, in 1972 by Chuck Wagner with his parents, Lorna and Charlie Sr. The first release was just 240 cases. The family has made Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon every year since, sourcing fruit from across Napa's sub-appellations, from cooler Coombsville in the south to warmer Calistoga in the north, plus Rutherford and Oakville. Caymus is still 100% family-run, with the next generation of Wagners now involved in farming and winemaking.

    Caymus: FAQs

Can I get Caymus delivered in London today?

Yes. Every Caymus vintage here can be delivered across London in 30–45 minutes, 24 hours a day, with next-day delivery across the UK mainland.

Which Caymus vintages do you stock?

We currently stock Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1993, 1995, 2003 and the new 2023 release. The older vintages are library bottles in limited quantities.

Is an old Caymus still good to drink?

Mature Napa Cabernet can drink well at 20 to 30 years old, but every old bottle is individual, since its condition depends on how it was stored. Expect a softer, more savoury wine than a current release.

What is the 2023 Caymus like?

The 2023 draws on fruit from eight of Napa Valley's sixteen sub-appellations and spends 18–22 months mostly in new French oak. It is ripe and plush, with blackberry, cassis, dark cherry and vanilla. It replaces the 50th-anniversary 2022, which has sold out.

Does Caymus make a good gift?

Yes. A library Caymus makes a memorable birth-year or anniversary present, and the 2023 is a crowd-pleasing gift for anyone who loves big, ripe red wine. Add a free personalised message at checkout.
