      The Gin

Seventy One Eau de Nuit is a cask-finished gin built as an ode to the night, and it borrows as much from perfumery as from distilling. It is made from hand-picked botanical absolutes: classic juniper, coriander, angelica and citrus peels, alongside more unusual additions including the rare ‘Queen of the Night’ cactus flower.

The name comes from the resting: precisely 71 nights across three different oak casks — virgin European oak, ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry and ex-Cognac. That maturation gives the gin a refined golden hue and a dramatic smoothness, layering wood, dried fruit and cognac-like richness over the botanical backbone. At 40% ABV it drinks far more like a sipping spirit than a mixing gin.

      Tasting Notes

NoseBold and exotic — warm wood, vanilla, dried fruits, subtle spice and floral elegance.
PalateVelvety and full-bodied, with rich oak, sweet sherry depth and cognac-like fruitiness over a harmonious botanical core.
FinishLong, silky and seductive, with lingering spice and gentle sweetness.

Serve with: ice and nothing else, or in a Gin Martini, Negroni, or an unusually luxurious G&T.

      Questions

      Why is it golden?

The colour comes entirely from the 71 nights in oak. Cask resting is unusual for gin and is what gives this its wood, vanilla and dried fruit character.

Does it still taste like gin?

Yes — the juniper and citrus backbone is intact underneath. The casks add depth rather than replacing the botanicals.

      Neat or mixed?

Both, but neat or over ice is where the cask influence really shows. In cocktails it works best where the gin leads, such as a Martini or Negroni.
