    • Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2021 Pauillac 5ème Grand Cru Classé – a textbook, classic Pauillac from one of the appellation's most reliable estates. Located west of Pauillac on deep, coarse gravel-limestone soils that provide excellent drainage and heat retention, the vineyard (average vine age 38 years) delivers concentrated, structured wines with hallmark Cabernet Sauvignon elegance. The 2021 blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, aged 16–18 months in French oak barrels (75% new), resulting in a firm, traditional style with superb typicity and long-term ageing potential.

Deep, vibrant colour with aromas of ripe plum, cassis, blackcurrant, cocoa bean, liquorice, graphite, and subtle cedar. The palate is straight-laced and focused—firm yet finely grained tannins, bright acidity, layers of dark fruit, spice, and mineral notes, with a long, aromatic, pulled-in finish that promises to soften and gain complexity over time. A serious, old-school Pauillac with classic restraint and depth. Pairs beautifully with veal, pork, beef, lamb, or game dishes. Drink from 2026 to 2045+. Parker 94, Jane Anson 93, other scores often 94–96.
