    • Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2018 Pauillac 5ème Grand Cru Classé – a classic, powerful expression from one of Pauillac's most consistent estates. Situated on the gravelly plateau of Pauillac, the vineyard's deep gravel-sand-clay soils absorb daytime heat and release it slowly at night, ensuring even ripening and exceptional concentration. The 2018 vintage, one of the great modern Bordeaux years, delivered ripe, structured wines with superb balance and ageing potential.

Blend: Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (typically 70–80% with Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc). Aged 16–18 months in French oak (around 60–75% new). ABV 14%.

Deep magenta hue with intense aromas of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, cassis, liquorice, graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf, and subtle spice. The palate is very finely balanced—rich, focused fruit core, velvety yet precise tannins, vibrant acidity, layers of dark fruit, mineral notes, and exotic spice, leading to a long, aromatic, tannic finish with lingering black fruit and savoury depth. A serious, elegant Pauillac with classic structure and charm. Pairs excellently with beef, lamb, game, poultry, or aged cheeses. Drink from 2025 to 2045+. Critics' scores: James Suckling 96–97, Decanter 96, Robert Parker 94–96, Wine Spectator 95.
