Beluga Noble arrived in 2009 and changed what people expected of Russian vodka at the top end. It is made at the Mariinsk distillery from barley malt spirit and pure Siberian water — the foundation of everything the house does — and then delicately infused with honey, oat and milk thistle.
Those botanical touches are subtle by design. They do not flavour the vodka so much as shape it, lending a pristine, faintly grainy character and an immaculately clean finish. It remains the benchmark bottling in the range, and it is best appreciated the traditional Russian way: neat, cold, and without ceremony. 40% ABV.
Serve with: nothing at all — neat and chilled, in a small glass, as it is drunk in Russia. It also makes a very clean Martini.
