Pierre Lurton has spent his career running two of the most famous properties in France: Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Émilion and Château d'Yquem in Sauternes. Marjosse is the estate he bought for himself, in the Entre-Deux-Mers between the Garonne and the Dordogne, and it is where he makes wine without a committee.
The white is the one to know. Dry white Bordeaux at this price is usually thin and forgettable; this is neither. Expect grapefruit and pear on the nose, a little lychee and pineapple behind, and a long, lively finish that keeps the whole thing upright. Antonio Galloni gave the 2021 ninety points and James Suckling ninety-one.

What grapes is it made from?
A dry white Bordeaux built on Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. The exact proportions shift from vintage to vintage, which is normal for the appellation.
Is it sweet?
No. Blanc Sec means dry. Despite the tropical notes it finishes clean and fresh.
How long will it keep?
Drink it young, within two or three years, while the citrus is at its brightest.
