Introduced in 1992 as the summit of the Johnnie Walker range, Blue Label is a recreation of the earliest, rarest blends the Walker family once made. It draws on some of the scarcest whiskies held in the Johnnie Walker reserves — including stock from distilleries that have long since fallen silent. There is no age statement, because every component is chosen for its character rather than its years. Each bottle is individually numbered.

Tasting Profile
Nose
Rich and layered — honey and rose petal, a lift of hazelnut, and the first wisps of sweet smoke.
Palate
Velvety and full. Dark chocolate and dried fruit give way to warming ginger and the signature smooth, almost ceramic smokiness.
Finish
Remarkably long and warming, with layers that slowly unfold and a final trace of lingering smoke.

Why is there no age statement?
Blue Label is blended for character, not calendar. Its whiskies are hand-selected from rare reserves for how they taste — some very old, some less so — so a single age number would misrepresent what is in the bottle.
Why is it so rare and prized?
Only around one in every ten thousand casks in the Johnnie Walker reserves has the depth and balance to be used, including whisky from distilleries that no longer exist — which is why every bottle carries its own serial number.
How should I serve it?
Neat, or with a single large ice cube to open the aromatics. It is a whisky to sip slowly and savour — there is no need to drown it in a mixer.
