Why is it called "Royal Salute"?
It was created in 1953 to mark Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, named after the traditional 21-gun salute fired to honour dignitaries and sovereigns.
Why porcelain instead of glass?
The flagon is hand-crafted by Wade, the historic British ceramics house, in three colours — sapphire, ruby, and emerald — said to represent gemstones in the Imperial State Crown.
Has the recipe changed since 1953?
The Signature Blend is said to have remained unchanged since its coronation debut, still built from whiskies aged a minimum of 21 years, blended today by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop.
