John Walker began blending in a small grocer's shop in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, in 1820. What started as a way to smooth out the inconsistency of single malt casks became the foundation of the world's most travelled Scotch. Black Label carries that founding idea forward — single malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland, each held back until it reaches at least twelve years old, before they're allowed anywhere near the blend.

Nose
Rich and rounded — sweet vanilla up front, giving way to orange peel, dried raisin, and a background of gentle spice.

Most blended whiskies state the age of only the youngest component. Black Label's 12-year statement applies to every single malt and grain whisky in the blend — a stricter standard than most competitors at this price point.
Is Black Label smoky?
Yes, moderately. Peated malts including Lagavulin and Talisker sit at its core, giving a background smokiness that builds through the palate into the finish, without dominating the sweeter, fruitier notes.
How should I serve it?
Neat or with a single large ice cube to open up the aromatics. It also holds its own in a classic Whisky Highball or Old Fashioned.
