The Cake
A naked cake leaves the sides unfrosted so the layers show — sponge, buttercream, sponge — which is a harder finish to pull off than a fully iced one, because there is nowhere to hide an uneven layer. The Fairy Dream is built that way by hand, with generous buttercream between layers of vanilla or chocolate sponge, whichever you choose.
It is topped with fresh seasonal fruit and delicate flowers, which is where the name comes from and why no two are identical. The rustic finish suits outdoor and barn weddings particularly well, and works just as happily as a birthday cake. Please note it is made in a facility that also handles allergens including gluten, egg, soy, milk and nuts, so traces may be present.
