      Questions

      Why is it called Impérial?
Jean-Rémy Moët was a friend of Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the cellars in Épernay. The cuvée created in 1869 was named Impérial in tribute to the Emperor, and the name has stayed ever since.
What is the difference between Impérial, Nectar and Ice?
Impérial Brut is the dry house signature. Nectar Impérial is demi-sec — noticeably richer and sweeter, excellent with dessert or spice. Ice Impérial is made specifically to be poured over a glass full of ice, and is the one to reach for in summer.
      How do I pronounce Moët?
"Mo-wett" — the T is pronounced. The family name is Dutch in origin, so it does not follow the usual French rule of silencing the final consonant.
Is a magnum better than two bottles?
Many people think so. The larger volume means a slower, gentler maturation against the same amount of oxygen, which tends to give a finer mousse — and a magnum on the table is an occasion in itself.
Can you deliver it directly to the person I'm gifting?
Yes — enter their address at checkout, choose your box finish and add your message. In London it can be at their door within 30–45 minutes, any hour of the day. The recipient must be 18+ with ID for our Challenge 21 check.
