Château Palmer Margaux 2020 75cl is the iconic Grand Vin from one of the most revered Third Growth estates in the Margaux appellation, southern Médoc. Sourced from 55 hectares of vines (some over 70 years old) on sandy-gravelly soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, this 2020 vintage is a harmonious blend of 48% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot. Under technical director Thomas Duroux, the wine combines grip and freshness with striking depth: aromas of liquorice, crayon, cigar box, dark chocolate, blue and black fruits, mint leaf, spiced red pepper, pomegranate, incense, and tobacco leaf. The palate is precise, slow, and seductive—medium to full-bodied with vivid fruit, understated power, fine tannins, and signature Palmer elegance, leading to a long, serious finish. Jane Anson awarded it 97 points, praising its “understated power” and “signature Palmer identity.” Drink 2025–2050+ for peak complexity. Pairs superbly with beef, lamb, game, or poultry.
