At Drinks House 247, every order is placed and paid for online at checkout, by card or PayPal. There is no cash on delivery and orders are not taken by phone. Paying in advance keeps deliveries fast and safe, lets gift senders pay for someone else, and leaves the driver free to focus on the age check at the door.
Ordering drinks to your door should be quick, and the payment step is where most questions come up. Can you pay the driver in cash? Can someone else pay for a gift? What happens if the card is declined? This guide explains how payment works and why it is set up the way it is.
Delivery charges, if any apply to your order, are shown at checkout before you pay, so there are no surprises at the door.
No. Drinks House 247 does not offer cash on delivery, and drivers do not carry card machines. All payment happens online before the order leaves.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Cash on delivery? | No |
| Card payment to the driver? | No; pay online at checkout |
| Phone orders? | No; orders are placed online. The phone line is for questions and order help |
| Card or PayPal at checkout? | Yes |
| Paying for someone else's delivery? | Yes; the sender pays and the recipient pays nothing |
When you send drinks to someone else, you pay at checkout and enter their address for delivery. Add a gift message so they know who it is from. The recipient does not pay anything; they only need to be 18 or over and, if they look under 25, show photo ID under the Challenge 25 policy.
Payment is already done, so the driver checks two things: that the order is going to the right address, and that the person accepting it is 18 or over. Anyone who looks under 25 is asked for photo ID such as a passport or driving licence. If nobody at the address can show they are over 18, the driver cannot hand over the order, even though it has been paid for.
If a card is declined at checkout, the order is not placed and nothing is sent. Check the card details and billing address, try another card, or use PayPal. Your bank may also block an unfamiliar online payment for security; approving it in your banking app usually solves this.
Card details are entered on the secure checkout, never given to a driver or read out over the phone. Look for the padlock in your browser's address bar and the correct web address, drinkshouse247.co.uk, before entering payment details. Be wary of anyone contacting you to take payment by phone or message; genuine orders are always paid through the website.
Yes. Businesses order the same way, online at checkout. Deliveries to London business addresses can arrive the same day when ordered by 4pm, which suits office celebrations and client gifts. For larger or regular orders, contact the team to discuss what you need.
If something is wrong with your order, contact the team using the details on the contact page as soon as possible. Because payment was made online, any agreed refund goes back to the original payment method.
Not with Drinks House 247. All orders are paid online at checkout by card or PayPal, and drivers do not take cash or card payments.
No. Orders are placed and paid for online. The phone line is for questions and help with an existing order.
No. The sender pays at checkout. The recipient only needs to be 18 or over and show ID if they look under 25.
Prepaid orders keep drivers safer, make handovers faster, and let them focus on the legal age check at the door.
