Nyetimber 1086 2009 75cl is an ultra-rare prestige vintage English sparkling wine from Nyetimber, England’s trailblazing producer since planting vines in 1988. This limited-edition cuvée pays homage to the estate’s first recorded mention in the Domesday Book of 1086 (“Nitimbreha”), celebrating nearly a millennium of history in West Sussex’s South Downs. Crafted exclusively from estate-grown grapes, the 2009 blend is 46% Chardonnay, 43% Pinot Noir, and 11% Meunier, hand-selected from the finest parcels. The 2009 vintage benefited from typical seasonal progression, excellent mid-June flowering, late-August veraison, and warm, sunny August/September conditions, yielding optimum ripeness and fine flavours. Traditional method bottle fermentation and an extended 6 years on lees (disgorged July 2016) at 9 g/l dosage with Mytik Diam technical corks deliver exceptional maturity and finesse. With only 2,600 bottles and 40 magnums produced (plus 2 years post-disgorgement ageing), it offers balanced acidity, alluring aromas of honey, pastry, and roasted nuts, a smooth mouthfeel with abundant citrus and orchard fruits, and a long, complex finish with subtle brioche notes.
