Mantuano takes its name from the mantuanos, the aristocratic landowning families of colonial Venezuela. It is a blend of pot still and column still rums aged up to eight years in ex-bourbon barrels — the pot still portion giving weight, the column still portion keeping it bright and drinkable.
This is the bottle that gives you the house style without the price of the older expressions: vanilla, brown sugar and dried fruit, smooth and warm at 40% ABV. It is the natural entry point into premium aged rum, and one of the most consistently well-reviewed rums at its price.
