Château Bourgneuf 2019 — black cherry, plum and spice from the heart of Pomerol, in half-bottle form.
Château Bourgneuf is a historic family estate in the heart of Pomerol, its heritage stretching back generations on the appellation’s famous clay soils. The 2019 blends Merlot with Cabernet Franc, aged in oak barrels.
The 2019 vintage gave the Right Bank ripe fruit and lovely balance, and it shows here: black cherry and plum layered with red fruit brightness, earth, thyme-like herbal hints and a twist of black pepper. The tannins are well integrated and the texture silky, with vibrant acidity keeping everything fresh through the finish. A polished Pomerol in a bottle sized for two glasses.
Serve with: duck confit, roasted lamb, grilled steak, aged cheeses, or a picnic of bread, cheese and cured meats.
