A fruit cup: a gin base flavoured with a secret blend of herbs, liqueurs and caramelised orange, bottled at 25% so it can be mixed long. It was designed from the start to be diluted rather than drunk neat.
What is the correct ratio?
One part Pimm's to three parts lemonade is the house standard. Some prefer one to two for a stronger jug. Fill with ice first, pour the Pimm's, then the lemonade, then the fruit — in that order, so nothing bruises.
What goes in it?
Cucumber is non-negotiable. Then strawberry, orange slices and a generous handful of mint. Apple and lemon work too. Anything more than that and you are making a fruit salad.
