Absolut Elyx — single-estate winter wheat, distilled by hand in a 1921 copper column still. Liquid silk at 42.3%.
Absolut Elyx is made exclusively from winter wheat grown on a single estate in Åhus, southern Sweden — everything from seed to bottle happens within a fifteen-mile radius. That tight geography is unusual for a vodka at any price, and it is the foundation of the whole product.
Distillation is done manually in a vintage 1921 copper column still. Copper catalysis strips impurities while adding subtle depth, and doing it by hand rather than by automation is what the distillery credits for the texture. The house calls the result “liquid silk”, and at 42.3% ABV — deliberately above the standard 40% — it has the mouthfeel to justify the phrase.
Serve with: neat or on the rocks to appreciate the texture, or in an elevated Martini. The higher strength holds up well in cocktails.

Copper catalysis removes unwanted sulphur compounds during distillation while contributing a subtle richness. It is why Elyx tastes fuller than a stainless-steel-distilled vodka.
The extra strength carries more flavour and gives a fuller mouthfeel. It is a deliberate choice rather than a rounding.
All the winter wheat comes from one estate in Åhus, and the entire process from seed to bottle happens within fifteen miles of it.
